Philadelphia Hit-and-Run Driver Injures 11-Year-Old Boy


An 11-year-old boy was struck by a passing car in southwest Philadelphia while he was skateboarding. Witnesses said that the driver of the vehicle got out of her car, looked at the boy on the ground, got back in her car and fled the scene of the pedestrian and car accident.

The boy was transported to Philadelphia Children’s Hospital with head injuries and bruising and other cuts and scrapes. As last reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer, the boy was listed in stable condition at the hospital.

Philadelphia law enforcement authorities believe that the vehicle was either a black or dark blue BMW or Mercedes. The accident occurred near 65th Street and Greenway Avenue. The driver continued to travel along Greenway Avenue after striking the skateboarding child with her car.
